ACCESSPUBLICFOROwners and managers

Who does what

Accounts are not all the same. This is what each kind can see and change, so you can hand the right thing to the right person and nothing else.

The short version

There are two halves of every room: the people running it and the people in it. Running-it accounts can change the plan. In-it accounts can see it, take part in it, and manage their own details — nothing more.

Running the room

AccountCan doCannot do
Venue ownerEverything in your building: events, running orders, staff, members, billing settings, payouts, the public page.See anything belonging to another venue.
Staff / coachRun events, check people in, drive the clock, message the room, manage the roster.Change billing, payouts or who else has access.
DirectorDrive one event: the clock, the running order on the day, the screens and broadcasts.Touch other events, members, or money.
PromoterPromote events and track the sign-ups and sales that came from their link.Change the event or see the venue’s other numbers.

In the room

AccountCan do
MemberCheck in, see their own attendance, rank and journal, pay their dues, and read the schedule.
FanFollow venues and artists, see what is on, hold tickets, and take part in whatever the screen is asking the room.
Performer / bandKeep their own profile and press kit, and see the running order for events they are on.
GuestNo account at all. Scans a code, joins from their phone, does the one thing they came to do.

Guests never need an account

This is deliberate and worth relying on. A wedding guest uploading a photo, an audience member answering a question on the screen, a trial student signing a waiver at the door — none of them are asked to sign up. Anything you can put behind a QR code, you can hand to a stranger.

Changing what someone can do

Roles are set from your venue's people list. Removing someone takes effect on their next page load — there is no cached window where a removed coach can still start a class.

If a member should also be a coach, they get one account with the coach role, not two accounts. Two accounts is how attendance histories get split in half.

Next: how your room renames all of this in your own words.
