Text messages
Texting your members and guests runs on pre-paid credits. There is no subscription for it, and unused credits do not expire.
Consent comes first, and it is not negotiable
NextSet will not text somebody who has not agreed to be texted. Not “probably will not” — the send is refused. If consent is missing, unclear, or has been withdrawn, the message does not go out.
That is a legal requirement in Canada and the United States, and the penalties land on you, not on us. Failing closed is the only version of this that protects the person paying for the messages.
Buying credits
One credit is one message segment. Buy a pack; bigger packs cost less per text. There is no commitment and nothing recurring.

Monthly, if you send every week
If you send regularly, a monthly amount buys the same texts slightly cheaper. Monthly credits reset each month and do not roll over — that is the difference between the two ladders, and it is the thing to check before you switch.

What counts as one credit
A plain-text message up to 160 characters is one segment. Go over and it becomes two, and emoji and accented characters shorten the limit considerably. A 200-character message to 180 members is 360 credits, not 180 — worth knowing before you write.

Texts interrupt people. That is exactly why they work, and exactly why over-using them stops them working.
